Cyber Security Intern







Who are Bewica?

We are a UK-based startup on a mission to make cyber security simple for small and medium-sized organisations. Founded in 2017, we give organisations the tools and training to protect against key cyber risks such as phishing.

Our main product is a cyber protection platform that brings these tools and training together into an intuitive dashboard that can be used by any business - not just those with in-house IT specialists. Alongside this, we also have a number of partner integrations including cyber risk reports and an agency dashboard. We work with a growing number of partners including insurers and banks.

What are we looking for?

We are searching for an intern to help develop our cyber security tools and content.This role has significant flexibility in hours and days worked. It is therefore particularly wellsuited to a student wishing to gain (further) practical experience alongside their studies.Start-date is as soon as possible. This is a great opportunity to gain practical work experience with a start-up. Also, you will bepart of a small team, allowing you to make a strong mark.

Key responsibilities

In a rapidly developing business, you can be helpful in many different ways. However, your
main responsibilities will be:

  • Further develop one or more of our existing tools
  • Explain different cyber security risks and protection measures to businesses in clear, easy-to-understand articles / blogs
  • Review our existing proposition and make suggestions for improvements
  • Help build Bewica so we can help businesses better protect themselves

What we'd like to see from you

  • Hands-on coding experience with a tech stack like ours 
  • Technical background (BSc level or higher in CS, Engineering or Science)
  • Eligible to work in the EU
  • Strong English written and verbal communication skills
  • Be able to demonstrate a history of shipping great code and applications

Nice to have

  • Significant practical and/or academic knowledge of cyber security. We equally welcome cyber security students as well as those who are self-taught.
  • Technical understanding and ability to explain technical processes and facts to people without technical focus
  • Self-starter who takes responsibility over tasks and drives them enthusiastically
  • Excellent written and spoken English
  • Other languages such as French, German, Italian welcome but not at all required
  • Responsible with strong ethics


  • Collaborate directly on a daily basis with the Founder & CEO as well as CTO, both of whom with 20 years’ experience
  • Gain hands-on work experience in cyber security and receive a full written reference upon program completion
  • Obtain potential future paid employment, depending on the future success of the business
  • Remote working during the Coronavirus crisis. Choice between remote working or working from our office in London afterwards
  • This role is ‘in at the ground floor’ and will allow you to play a leading role in shaping Bewica
