SSL website encryption is a technology used to create an encrypted link between a website and the user of the websites browser. SSL encrypted websites use a protocal called HTTPS to send exchange data securely, meaning that hackers cannot view the data that is being sent or received by the user of the website. This is extremely important for online payments and when exchanging other sensitive information, but all websites should have this security installed.
